Friends, ladies, countrymen! Lend me your ears
That I may recite this, my tale of woe,
Love, laughter, frustration,
Kindness, and joy.
Cocooned in this womb of warmth I lie sleeping, peaceful. Foetus-like in this haven, my hand moves slowly towards my mouth, thumb extended. The gentle, rhythmic bass beats through me and I know I am safe.
Suddenly this warmth is ripped away from me, and I scream and kick out protestingly at the brightness and coldness of this alien world.
"Come on Laus, it's time to get up. We have to get ready"
"Go away I'm sleeping."
